An introduction to mountain biking in the Peak District. This is one of the easiest rides in the Peak but as you can see from the route pictures it's not short on scenery and atmosphere. Suitable for the novice we follow the periphery of the Ladybower, Derwent and Howden reservoirs. Of course it's not all easy waterside tracks. We escape the busy road section by climbing up Crook Hill via Crookhill farm to reach the two rocky outcrops high above the water. From here we crest along the top through open pasture enjoying the open views toward Jaggers Clough to the west before descending steeply back to rejoin the reservoir tracks.
