Submit a Route
We've provided TrackLogs Online Routes as a free resource for TrackLogs Digital Mapping users. To get the ball rolling we've seeded the database with our collection of walking, mountain bike and road cycling routes. Now it's up to you to submit your favourite routes.
How to Submit Your Route?
We're looking for routes of all types and all over Great Britain and route submission is easy. Here's how:
| Step 1. Check your Software Version | |
| To submit routes to TrackLogs you need to be running TrackLogs v3.09 or later. To check which version you are running select "Help=>About TrackLogs" from the main menu of your TrackLogs application. |
| Step 2. Plot your Favourite Routes | |
| You've probably already done this bit. Think about which routes are the best in your area and plot them in TrackLogs. If you've got multiple map scales then try to use the most detailed map available to you. Think about adding some escape routes or alternative options as part of your route. |
| Step 3. Add some Description | |
| A brief description helps online users to understand your route. If your route is most applicable to a certain time of year then say so, if there's a distinct point to your route like a famous landmark then say so. You might even want to add some waypoints with step by step instructions. |
| Step 4. Submit your Route | |
| Here's the clever part. Select "File=>Save to Web" from the main menu in the TrackLogs application. This launches a wizard which takes you through route submission. It's all automated direct into the website so you're route will be visible and available for download immediately. |
